Imagine you’re stuck wearing a mask that covers your entire head and blends perfectly with your skin tone. Whenever people see it, they assume it’s your face, who you are, and treat you in accordance with that false belief. The mask could be “disabled,” “ex-felon,” “crazy,” “homeless”...people see it before they see you.
