Does Climate Change Discriminate?

Some commenters on the Internet have said that global warming is sexist, racist, or both. BUT IS IT?

What I mean by that is, is it accurate to describe the phenomenon of the Earth heating up with words typically used to describe the attitudes of a person toward another group of people?


Now, to be sure, climate change disproportionately affects certain populations more than others. The latest National Climate Assessment Report says as much: “People who are already vulnerable, including lower-income and other marginalized communities, have lower capacity to prepare for and cope with extreme weather and climate-related events and are expected to experience greater impacts.”
